Stop Press June 2006: California Residents: Speak Out for Kangaroos

Please take action today to protect kangaroos from falling victim to commercial interests. If passed, AB 734 would remove the existing ban on the importation and sale of any part or product made of kangaroo.

1. Never buy kangaroo meat or skin!

3. Order campaign materials such as leaflets, petitions and stickers to distribute. Click here to download leaflets and petitions. Why not ask a local library, sports center, health food shop or anywhere else that might be sympathetic if you can leave out a few leaflets?

4. Hold an information table or organize a protest or leafleting event - a great way of reaching people who might not have heard about the campaign to save the kangaroos. You can hand out leaflets, collect signatures on petitions and talk to people who need more info - all vital ways of raising awareness about kangaroo slaughter. A protest doesn't have to be a big event - even 2 or 3 people with posters and leaflets can catch the public's attention. If you have never done it before, or click here for some helpful hints. 5. Complain to the manager if you find a restaurant or grocery store serving kangaroo meat and remember in California, this is illegal. Write the store or restaurant along with important information on the slaughter. Be sure to ask for a response. If their response isn't to your liking you might need to get others involved to call, write and maybe even leaflet. The media might be interested also. Get in touch and we can assist you.

6. Boycott Adidas! Tell everyone you know that Adidas are funding an industry responsible for the deaths of millions of kangaroos and their babies - all for the sake of a sports shoe! Be sure to wear our stickers - they are great conversation pieces!

8. Send us your old Adidas gear! Yes we need anything with the Adidas logo on it - shoes, boots, bags, caps, t-shirts, track suits, bags, toiletries.... anything you can find, we'll put it to good use raising awareness about Adidas's involvement in kangaroo killing.
